Blue Mountain CD
Blue Mountain (2004)
Will Collins and I got together in the staggering Florida heat in the spring of 2004 and we recorded "Blue Mountain." It was done on a shoestring budget and mostly all of it one take performances from me and all the players. There are a few mistakes - some popped "Ps" which happens when you get too aggressive too close to the mike and a couple of haywire guitar strings here and there but the songs are all there and I love listening to Will play.
I wrote these songs way up north in the Adirondack Mountains. The mountains and the people there inspired the music and lyrics. Some songs are about riding high into the snowy hills of the region. Others about men struggling with the toughness of their environment and the vulnerability of their feelings. A cop who commits the ultimate sin. There are lovers and fishermen, death and the Trail of Tears.
I'm there now. It's July, it'll go down to 35 degrees tonight. It's a full moon. Beautiful. I'll see you on the road.
